More eBooks in the future?

First off i want to thank all of you who have purchased my eBook, it means so much to me, and i hope that it has given you some good information and guide to eating vegan and getting enough vitamins nutrients, and what sources to find those vitamins and nutrients!!

I must admit, it feels good now that it is done and people are buying it. I was worried that no one would buy it, but have been surprised that many have….. However it was never about money and if i am honest, i am pretty sure i spent more money on the food for the recipes and more time creating and writing the ebook than i have earnt selling it. However it was something i have wanted to do for a while and have let my anxiety  and self-doubt hold me back. So it was mostly about achieving a goal of mine, but also helping others…. that was the main thing. To share my information and the knowledge i have of vegan food and nutrition.

It is only a small clientele that actually need or want this sort of ebook, so i know that it was only a small group who would buy the ebook. In the future i do hope to have health coaching either online or in real life and then give more individual advice based on your needs, preferences, problems etc but this was more an overall guide!

I was asked if i had plans on making a new ebook and right now i don’t….. My main focus is school, social media and towards the summer looking at starting my own company. As well as just living life, i.e being with friends, dealing with other things in my life etc

I do have ideas for other ebooks though but it wouldn’t be for another while. I was thinking that either i will write another vegan nutrition one complementing and adding more information that isn’t in this one, i.e more detailed and other questions/answers. Or maybe an ebook with food portions and more applicable information such as showing food portions and meals in pictures to show how “this is how one plate of food with XXg protein and XXg carbs and XXg iron etc” looks. HOWEVER that could lead to too much focus on numbers and portion sizes which could be negative for some… i.e you really don’t need to know how much of each macro and micro nutrient is in each meal you eat.  Not to mention that portion sizes are just a guide, but the actual amount you need varies depending on lifestyle, genes, hunger etc I never follow portion sizes, i just eat according to hunger and that works great for me and my body balances everything out. So it can be negative if there is too much focus on what is “right” eating or thinking you can only eat one portion of a food etc

However at the same time it can be positive to see normal portion sizes or see how many nutrients there are in your food i.e calcium, iron, zinc, fiber if you are struggling with either overeating or undereating. But also it is a way to apply nutrition advice to food so that regular-uninterested in nutrition – people can see how to eat a balanced meal with normal portions.

I will have to do alot of thinking weigh the pros and the cons and see if it actually is something people would want or buy. I am guessing the people who have a negative realtionship with food and know they focus too much on calories already wouldnät buy the book anyway because it would just be destructive for them. But maybe those who just want a better understanding on normal food and normal food portions would find it helpful…. who knows!!!

Or maybe i will write an ebook with lots of simple vegan recipes, however it also feels like it would be a very small clientele who would buy the eBook and maybe not worth the time invested or the money spent on food to make the recipes.

Sometimes i wonder how different foodies who make recipe ebooks or books can afford all the food to make the recipes, especially when they have to recreate and retry different recipes. Not to mention where do they fit all the food…. my fridge was filled with food after i made the recipes in my ebook and barely had time to eat it all before it went bad hahah. To make a recipe book with like 100 different recipes has to cost alot with all the different food – which is something to think about when you buy recipe books. All the time, energy, cost they put into creating it and then it just costs 10 dollars or 15 dollars… it really isn’t so much when the author and creator has most likely invested alot of money and time into creating it!!

I was also asked if i could write about the process of writing an ebook and a post about that will be up in the upcoming days 🙂 (Though not sure i am the best person to ask, haha!)

When it comes to portion sizes I was told that as a general guide you should fill half your plate with vegetables or salad, a quarter with a carbohydrate and a quarter with a protein. This generally works well for me and I find by doing this my meals are more or less “balanced.
Is this good advice to follow?

I think your idea to maybe create an e-book of “simple” vegan recipes an excellent one. There seems to be a huge gap in the market for easy, simple recipes for vegan food – all the recipes I have looked at are either miles long or use obscure food items! So an “everyday” vegan cookbook would be a great thing – according to me anyway! It would be nice to have recipes using foods that are readily available and not a mystery as to either what they actually are or where you can buy them – as so many recipes are. There needs to be a cookery book that shows that vegan cooking can be an everyday, normal thing to do – not turn it into a showcase, a one off or a special occasion.
    Just my thoughts 🙂
