Whatever your preference and taste!!

So simple and easy to make – and perfect to impress your date, friends or family with 🙂

6-8 slices frisco hot melt toast (best to let stand on a plate in room temperature for a few hours before cooking them or roast them for a few minutes beforehand).

3 tablespoons of water
60ml apple sauce
60ml syrup (alternative sugar-free syrup or agave syrup)

Addition: Sugar blend (or sugar-free options) and cinnamon for topping and vegan chocolate sauce or peanut butter to dip in

Start by mixing flax seeds (alternatively chia seeds) with water in a small bowl and allow to stand until it has thickened and become a gel consistency.
In a large bowl mix together the plantbasedmilk, flaxseed, applesauce, syrup, vanilla sugar and cinnamon.
In another bowl mix c.a 1dl sugar (or sugar free option) with 1-2 tablespoons of cinnamon and mix well – leave to stand until after the bread is cooked.
If the bread is fresh, either toast in a toaster or in the oven until slightly crispy/roasted, and then cut into small strips. Dip quickly each piece into the milk mixture – it should not be too wet.
Then heat a frying pan with oil or vegan margarine and fry until golden brown. C.a 1-2 minutes on each side. When the pieces are cooked, dip in rhe sugar and cinnamon mixture until covered. Repeat for all pieces.
Eat warm and enjoy along with some fresh berries and whipped cream!!

I haven’t eaten French toast for ages – I used to make it a lot but we called it “gypsy toast” for some unknown reason!
