Green pea patties (Vegan)

Green peas my all time favourite vegetable. Well, almost. I love the sweetness and crunch of them and if i am honest i can eat a bowl of green peas and salt just as it is!

These green patties is actually the rest of one of my food challenge videos i did on Youtube, where i only ate green food for the day. (YOUTUBE: izzym ). Those food challenges are done for the sake of YouTube and entertainment, but i have to say they always get me creating new dishes which i also love.

These green patties are so good and as you may know by now, are a good food to make for mealprep as they are cheap and easy to make and work great to be frozen and reheated!

If there is one vegetable patty to give a try, this is the one to try!

Recipe:

150g-200g green peas (boiled/defrosted)

400g can of chickpas (i.e c.a 240g chickpeas=

1-2 garlic cloves

1/2 small red onion

100g breadcrumbs and sesame seeds

1-2tbsp flour

1 tbsp cornstarch

salt and pepper

A few drops of lime

Oil to fry in

Serve with some vegetables, tahini and rice or eat in some pita bread or liba bread as a wrap!

How to:

Begin by boiling or defrosting the green peas. Then dice the red onion and mince the garlic.

In a food processor add the peas, onion, garlic and chickpeas. Mix until combined (not completly mushy, it is ok with some texture still). Add the salt, pepper, flour, cornstarch, breadcrumbs and sesame seeds (start off with half and add more as necessary). NOTE, taste test and adjust the seasoning or add other types of seasoning. I just went for plain salt, pepper, onion and garlic as that is what i prefer.

Coat in a mix of breadcrumbs and sesame seeds. Then fry in some oil on medium heat until golden brown on both sides, or bake in the oven at 200C for about 20-25 minutes.

Eat and enjoy!

Let me know if you try this recipe!!
